  • Family of eleven missionaries sends parents

    Tom and Louann Hunsaker will enter the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, this week in preparation for serving in the Michigan Detroit Mission. They are following in the footsteps of their posterity. Eleven of their eleven children have served full-time missions, and now Elder and Sister Hunsaker will have their turn to serve.
  • New mission presidents

    Seven new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service about July 1.
  • United States information: Michigan

    Visiting her relatives in Pontiac, Lucy Mack Smith, mother of Joseph Smith, arrived in Michigan in the spring of 1831. Accompanying her was her niece, Almira Mack, a native of Pontiac. She had been baptized in New York in 1830 and became Michigan's first Church member.
