  • Changes in mission president assignments

    Changes in assignment have been made for the 2011 new mission presidents listed below. They will begin their service around July 1st.
  • New mission presidents

    Seven new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin service about July 1.
  • United States information: Alaska

    The first known visit by Church members to Alaska occurred in July 1895 when President Wilford Woodruff and his counselors, George Q. Cannon and Joseph F. Smith, and their families toured Juneau and the southern portion of Alaska via steamship.
  • Country information: Canada

    At the northern end of North America, Canada is a confederation with a parliamentary democracy. It includes 10 provinces and three territories. Its population speaks English and French, and is Roman Catholic, 46 percent; and Protestant, 41 percent. In 2005, membership reached 166,442.
