    A large archipelago off the southeast coast of Asia, the Republic of the Philippines has a population of more than 70 million, speaking mainly English and Tagalog, along with seven other major dialects. More than 80 percent of the population is Catholic, due to a long period of Spanish rule, with the remainder being predominantly Protestant and Muslim.

    Seven new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin service about July 1, 2009.

    For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints and do minister (Hebrews 6:10).
