Philippines Quezon City Mission

  • New boundaries announced for several missions

    Five new missions of the Church are being created in Zambia, Benin, Peru, the Philippines and Mexico, while five missions in Portugal, Switzerland, Canada and the United States are being combined with neighboring missions.

    Seven new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency to begin their service about July 1.

    A large archipelago off the southeast coast of Asia, the Republic of the Philippines has a population of more than 70 million, speaking mainly English and Tagalog, along with seven other major dialects. More than 80 percent of the population is Catholic, due to a long period of Spanish rule, with the remainder being predominantly Protestant and Muslim.
  • Missionary moments: Exit process

    As part of their last day in the mission field, 14 missionaries from the Philippines Quezon City Mission were attending an endowment session in the Manila Philippines Temple. Elder Generalito Florendo Soriano from La Union, Philippines, was one of those missionaries on that day in December 1999.
