  • Kyiv Ukraine Temple receives national award

    The Kyiv Ukraine Temple received first place for the best religious building constructed in Ukraine in 2010. The award was given by the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine on Sept. 12, 2011.
  • President Monson keeps busy as his 84th birthday approaches

    An online current affairs and culture magazine, Slate, listed President Monson among "80 people over the age of 80" in last year's "catalog of the nation's silver lions: fourscore elder statesmen, titans of industry, cultural icons" and others who have remained influential in their ninth decade and beyond. In making its announcement last December, Slate stated that President Monson "stands atop the list. As the divine prophet, seer and revelator for 5.5 million Americans and more than [14] million people around the world, he's the most powerful 83-year-old we could find."
  • Russia's first stake a powerful symbol of country's growth

    Members and missionaries in Moscow, Russia, were correct in feeling optimistic last summer when a temple was dedicated in neighboring Ukraine.
  • Apostle lauds Russia's pioneer heritage

    The Church is experiencing exciting, historical moments in the Europe East Area. Last summer, President Thomas S. Monson dedicated the area's first temple with the opening of the Kyiv Ukraine Temple. And three weeks ago, Elder Russell M. Nelson of the Quorum of the Twelve organized the Russia Moscow Stake, the nation's first.
