    A group of members of Mayan descent — fluent in the language of their forefathers — go to the Merida Mexico Temple quarterly, on fifth Saturdays, to enjoy the spirit of the House of the Lord in their own language.

    With the Merida Mexico Temple in the background, more than 300 members gathered recently to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the beginnings of the Church in the Yucatan Peninsula, historic home of the ancient Mayans and their modern descendants.

    In the past, many members had to travel long distances and overcome other inconveniences in order to have the privilege of worshiping and learning more about the eternal covenants of the restored gospel.
