Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple

  • New temple presidents

Three new temple presidents have been called by the First Presidency, with their wives called as matrons. They will begin service soon.
  • Temple moments: Keeping it going

Life has not been the same in the Gulf regions since Hurricane Katrina blasted through on Aug. 29, 2005, and was followed in little less than a month by Hurricane Rita on Sept. 24. The devastation wreaked by those sister storms impacted much of the coast between Beaumont, Texas, and Mobile, Ala. Located in an area between the brunt of both storms, the Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple was also affected, though not physically.
  • Invitation to read has lasting impact

Following an invitation from President Gordon B. Hinckley and his counselors — President Thomas S. Monson and President James E. Faust — to read the Book of Mormon, Church leaders are saying Latter-day Saints who heeded the Brethren's direction drew closer to the Savior and now reflect His light in their lives on a greater level.
