New stake presidencies

A new stake has been created in Los Mochis, Mexico. Elder Robert E. Wells of the First Quorum of the Seventy and president of the Mexico/Central America Area presided at the division of the Los Mochis Mexico Stake, from which the new stake was created. The new stake has a membership of 3,600, and includes the Anahuac, Jardines, Libertad and Del Valle wards and the Ahome, Chihuahuita and Topolobampo branches.

SALT LAKE HUNTER STAKE: (March 5, 1989) President - Mark Steven Austin, 33, electrician, succeeding A. Blaine Buckner; former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop and counselor, married Lori Doxey. Counselors - Richard Lynn Nielson, 45, Church information systems manager, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, married Kathryn Ann Johansen; Robert L. Batt, 46, carpenter shop foreman, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, and high priests group leader, married Sandra Dyann Riley.
