President Benson leaves hospital, now convalescing at his home

President Ezra Taft Benson was released from the hospital Sunday, June 24 and was convalescing at home, Church spokesman Don LeFevre said June 26.

The 90-year-old Church leader was admitted to LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City June 20, where he was treated for a bacterial infection. He was taken to the hospital after experiencing difficulties at his Salt Lake City apartment.President Benson was in the hospital's intensive care unit for two days. His condition was then upgraded to fair, and he was transferred to a regular room for the remainder of his hospital stay.
