With the bishop's approval, brethren who have special talents for teaching the less active may be assigned by quorum or group leaders to home teach selected less-active members. Although other ward leaders help activate these members, the home teachers coordinate efforts, monitor progress, and account to priesthood leaders.
Some less-active members are receptive to the gospel but hesitate to attend a formal class or seminar. Home teachers should teach these members the gospel in their homes. Teaching sessions may be held as often as the members request and should be based on the scriptures and other Church-approved resources, such as the missionary discussions.
