New mission presidents

Eight more mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. Their assignments will be announced later. The new mission presidents are:

  • Milton Da Rocha Camargo, 38, Rio Pequeno Ward, Sao Paulo Brazil Stake; bishop; former welfare regional agent, stake executive secretary, high councilor, stake mission president, bishop and counselor, elders quorum president, and ward organist; marketing director for Philips of Brazil; received bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Instituto Militar de Engenharia and master's degree in business administration from BYU; born in Taubate, Brazil, to Helio and Nair Belmira Da Rocha Camargo; married Patricia Monteiro De Brito, three children. She is a seminary teacher; former stake Primary president, stake Relief Society president's counselor, ward Primary president and counselor, Relief Society president's counselor, and Sunday School teacher; attended University Santa Ursula and University Candido Mendes; born in Sao Goncalo, Brazil, to Emmanuel Marcellos and Cilea Monteiro De Brito.- Kent J. Diamond, 62, American Fork 12th Ward, American Fork Utah East Stake; former stake mission president, bishop, Scoutmaster, high priests group leader, and missionary in the Japan Tokyo South Mission; retired chief of employee relations for the Department of the Army; received bachelor's degree in industrial relations from the University of Hawaii; born in Provo, Utah, to James Edwin and Elizabeth Sellers Diamond; married Nancy Koizumi, three children. She is a Relief Society teacher; former stake missionary, ward Young Women president, Relief Society president's counselor, Cub Scout den leader, Primary teacher, Sunday School teacher, and missionary in the Japan Tokyo South Mission; born in Wahiawa, Hawaii, to Gensaku and Sono Koizumi.
  • Kent T. Evans, 67, Logan 25th Ward, Logan Utah Mount Logan Stake; former regional representative, stake president and counselor, high councilor, stake mission president, stake Young Men president, bishop, branch president's counselor, ward Sunday School president, institute and seminary teacher, Sunday School teacher, and Scoutmaster; retired vice president and sales manager for Romney Turf and Tractor; received bachelor's degree in animal husbandry from Utah State University; born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Joseph Goulden and Mary Golda Tiffany Evans; married Gloria Forsberg, five children. She is a former stake Relief Society president, stake Young Women president's counselor, ward Relief Society president and secretary, Young Women president, Primary president's counselor, Relief Society president's counselor, ward organist, seminary teacher, Primary and Relief Society teacher; attended Utah State University; born in Huntington Park, Calif., to Roy Frank and Pearl Ione Crismon Forsberg.
  • Francisco I. Gimenez, 45, Barcelona 3rd Ward, Barcelona Spain Stake; mission president's counselor; former stake president and counselor, stake financial clerk, district president's counselor, ward Young Men president, and Sunday School president's counselor; counselor delegated for EUCISA in Barcelona; received bachelor's degree from LaSalle Congress Raimundo Lucio; born in Barcelona, Spain, to Adolfo and Pompeya Gras Gimenez; married Margaria Borras, one child. She is ward Relief Society president's counselor; former stake Young Women president and counselor, ward Young Women president, and Relief Society president and counselor; received bachelor's degree from Institute of Instruction and degree in hotel management from Professional School; born in Amposta, Spain, to Francisco and Presentacion Berges Borras.
  • Jose L. Gonzalez, 44, Los Alpes Ward, Pereira Colombia Stake; stake president; former mission president's counselor, district president, high councilor, district clerk, and branch president; chief technician for Magom Ltd.; received bachelor's degree in technology from Advanced Technical Institute; born in Pereira, Colombia, to Manuel Felipe and Martha Gutierrez Gonzalez; married Monica Buitrago, three children. She is stake director of family history; former Young Women and Primary president, Relief Society president's counselor, seminary teacher, Sunday School and Relief Society teacher; received bachelor's degree in pre-law from Gymnasium College and law degree from Free University; born in Pereira, Colombia, to Jorge Mario and Mariela Jaramillo Buitrago.
  • Quade P. Hansen, 62, Heatheridge 6th Ward, Orem Utah Heatheridge Stake; assistant ward executive secretary; former high councilor, member of stake mission presidency, bishop and counselor, high priests group leader, Scoutmaster, and elder's quorum president; retired corporate vice president for General Motors Hughes Electronics Corp.; received bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Utah; born in Iona, Idaho, to Douglas and Alta Pearl Peterson Hansen; married Lea Rae Molen, four children. She is Relief Society compassionate service leader; former stake missionary, stake Relief Society president's counselor and board member, ward Relief Society president, services and activities committee member, nursery leader, and Relief Society teacher; received associate degree in English from Santa Monica College and bachelor's degree in English from the University of Arizona; born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Reed Randolph and Leah Empey Molen.
  • Dale B. Murphy, 40, Alpine 2nd Ward, Alpine Utah North Stake; stake president's counselor; former high councilor, member of stake mission presidency, bishop, and member of ward Young Men presidency; former major league baseball player, played with the Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies; attended BYU; born in Portland, Ore., to Charles Milton and Betty Louise Bryan Murphy; married Nancy Thomas, eight children. She is a Primary achievement day leader; former stake missionary, ward Primary president and counselor, Laurel adviser, Relief Society teacher, and Primary chorister; attended BYU; born in Albuquerque, N.M., to Claude Ray and Bonnie Ann Davis Thomas.
  • Jose L. Rios Amaya, 56, Aguascalientes 1st Ward, Aguascalientes Mexico Stake; mission president's counselor; former stake president and counselor, district president, bishop, and branch president; administrative assistant; born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, to Peralta Juan and Guadalupe Amaya de la O Rios; married Graciela Guzman Cruz, two children.
