The ideals of Scouting - to foster good citizenship, physical fitness, and moral integrity, all based upon a firm belief in God - are in harmony with the objectives of the Church. (See First Presidency letter, 20 June 1975.) Effective Scouting requires the following elements:
- Whole-hearted support from leaders, Scouts and families.- Stake and ward leaders who are committed to and trained in priesthood and Boy Scouts of America programs. These leaders should be examples of what priesthood holders and Scouts could be . . . .
