San Luis Potosi, Mexico: Cutting of inaugural ribbon opens festivities

The San Luis Potosi Mexico Stake celebrated the 150th anniversary of the pioneers' arrival in the Salt Lake Valley, organizing several activities - the first being an opening service May 2. The constitutional governor of the San Luis Potosi State, Lic. Horacio Sanchez Unzueta, attended and participated in the symbolic cutting of the inaugural ribbon to officially open the sesquicentennial festivities.

A choir, wearing pioneer clothing, performed for the ribbon cutting, singing "Faith in Every Footstep." Talks about the Church in Mexico and of the members' pioneer heritage were presented. The governor also spoke. The members were thrilled to have shared a spiritual experience with the most important person in the public life in the San Luis Potosi state.
