Sesquicentennial celebrations

This sesquicentennial year, Church members around the world have been celebrating the 150th anniversary of the 1847 pioneer trek to the Salt Lake Valley. Church groups have held re-enactments, pioneer-style dinners or luncheons, and firesides. They have also made time capsules, conducted service projects and set goals to honor their pioneer forbearers. Many reported receiving favorable coverage of their events from local newspapers and television stations. Following are examples of some of the many sesquicentennial events taking place around the world.
