New stake presidencies

Six new stakes have been created, two each in Brazil, Mexico and the Philippines.

In Brazil, the Brasilia Brazil North Stake was created by Elder W. Craig Zwick of the Seventy and the Campos Brazil Stake was created by Elder Claudio R. M. Costa of the Seventy.The Brasilia North stake includes the Brasilia Norte, Formosa, Planaltina 1st and 2nd, Planalto, and Sobradinho 1st and 2nd wards. The Campos stake includes the Aurora, Campos, Guarus 1st and 2nd, Quissama, and Turf wards, and the Caju branch.

In Mexico, the Juchitan Mexico Las Flores Stake was created by Elder Carl B. Pratt of the Seventy and the Mexico City Mexico Centenario Stake was created by Elder E. Octaviano Tenorio D., Area Authority Seventy.

The Juchitan Las Flores stake includes the Cheguigo, Ixtepec, Ixtepec Centro, Xochistlan and Zaragoza wards, and the La Ollaga and Xadani Guevea branches. The Mexico City Centenario stake includes the Carrera, Centenario, El Risco, Estrella, Morelos and Tepeyac wards, and the Indios Verdes branch.

In the Philippines, the Aringay Philippines Stake was created by Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Seventy and the Quezon City Philippines South Stake was created by Elder Sheldon F. Child of the Seventy.

The Aringay Philippines stake includes the Agoo 1st and 2nd, Aringay, Bauang 1st and 2nd, and Caba wards. The Quezon City South stake includes the Cubao, Quezon City 2nd, 3rd and 5th, Quirino 1st and 2nd and Roosevelt wards.

Elsewhere, stakes have been reorganized in Brazil and the Philippines.

CAMPOS BRAZIL STAKE: (Nov. 23, 1997) Created from the Campos Brazil District.
