Married 70 years ago on Aug. 16, 1930, in Spanish Fork, Utah, and sealed later in the Salt Lake Temple. They worked in farm fields and later went to Nevada and California, where they worked in meat packing plants and where he became a refrigeration engineer. They have lived in Spanish Fork, Utah; Reno, Nev.; South San Francisco and Sacramento, Calif. He has been a faithful home teacher and enjoyed farming on the side. She has been his office secretary and served as Primary president and Relief Society secretary. Members of the St. George 19th Ward, St. George Utah East Stake. Parents of three children (two living), they have four grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Harold A. and Nellie Marie Harrison Merrell

Married 75 years ago on Aug. 19, 1925, in the Salt Lake Temple. They have lived most of their married lives in Vernal, Utah, where he was a heavy equipment operator and head mechanic. They also lived in Rector, Utah, where she ran a boarding house and he worked at a mine. He was a senior Aaronic secretary, and ward clerk for 14 years. She was a Sunday School teacher and held other positions as well. Members of the Naples 1st Ward, Vernal Utah Unitah Stake. Parents of five children (four living), they have 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Edna M. and H. Vern Hardy

Married 70 years ago on Aug. 14, 1930, in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from BYU in accounting and business administration and was a manager in Salt Lake City for US West telephone company for 45 years. He served in the Sunday School, elders quorum, and high priests group leadership, and as ward clerk and stake executive secretary. She served in Primary and Junior Sunday School, and was involved in a pilot program to put libraries in each meetinghouse. She has made paintings, ceramics and afghans. Members of the Holladay 1st Ward, Salt Lake Holladay Stake. Parents of two sons, they have nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
