Missionary fireside draws 150

MUSKOGEE, Okla — A missionary fireside here featuring a violin performance by one of the elders serving in the mission drew a congregation of some 150 people, including an estimated 25 who were not members of the Church Feb. 11.

Elder Matthew Oshida, holder of a bachelor's degree in violin performance from Indiana University at Bloomington, performed and shared his testimony about Christ and how music can help one come closer to Him. Elder Oshida, whose experience includes performances with the San Jose Symphony, the Sacramento Philharmonic and the California Symphony, was serving in the mission while awaiting a visa to France, where he is now serving in the France Marseille Mission.
