April 2 — Family History Library Demonstration: "Basic Research Process: What you Know and What you Want to Learn," Room 134/136, 2 p.m. Free admission.

April 3-5 — General offices of the Relief Society, Young Women and Primary will hold open houses in connection with general conference; see www.lds.org for complete schedule and locations.

Orchestra auditions— The Orchestra at Temple Square will conduct auditions in May. A preliminary tape and application form will be due by April 20. Those invited to the live auditions will be notified by May 1. Applicants must be members of the Church and have considerable orchestral training and experience. Through Labor Day — An American flag that survived the explosion of the Challenger space shuttle in January 1986 is on display at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City. Free admission.

Through Feb. 2, 2003 — Museum of Church History and Art exhibits: "Families and Faith: The Fabric of LDS Life," "The Living Christ," and "Valiant Pioneer Children." Museum Hours: Mondays-Fridays, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays and most holidays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. 45 N. West Temple. Free admission.
