Parade entry: 'Rethinking education'

REXBURG, Idaho — BYU-Idaho students represented the new university during Rexburg's annual Whoopee Days Parade held July 27. Sharing the school's vision, "Rethinking Education," with the community, students rode on a float of oversized books, graduation caps and a globe. BYU-Idaho's entry won the Mayor's Choice award.

"[The float] represents scholarship and academics. It represents the school perfectly," said Chad Workman, ASBYUI events director.

Students worked for three weeks constructing and decorating the entry, which was designed by Merv Brown of University Communications.
