New mission presidents

Eight new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been announced. They will begin their service about July 1.

Sherman Merrill Crump, 70, Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission; River Ridge 7th Ward, South Jordan Utah River Ridge Stake; patriarch; temple ordinance worker, regional representative, mission president, stake president, bishop and elders quorum president. Former managing director of Church Missionary Department. Born in Murray, Utah, to William and Lola Grant Crump. Married Ardyth Roper, six children.

A Sunday School teacher, she is a former Young Women adviser, counselor in Relief Society presidency, Young Women president, teacher in Relief Society and counselor in Primary presidency. Born in Axtell, Utah, to Jessie William and Clara Mae Whitlock Roper.

Gary Lee Larkins, 60, Singapore Mission; Santa Clarita 2nd Ward, Santa Clarita California Stake; bishop; former Sunday School teacher, Young Men president, stake president, high councilor and elders quorum president. President and CEO of House of Fabrics. Born in Kaysville, Utah, to Clifton James and Virginia Kartchner Larkins. Married Trudy Jo Smith, four children.

She is a former temple ordinance worker, Young Women president and adviser, Primary president, stake Young Women president and stake Primary president. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Elwin William Charles and Ella Watterson Smith.

Gamaliel de Jesus Osorno F., 44, Venezuela Barcelona Mission; Nueva Valencia Ward, Valencia Venezuela Candelaria Stake; stake president; former branch president, bishop, counselor in bishopric and missionary. Institute director in Church Educational System. Born in Macuto, Venezuela, to Gildardo Osorno R. and Maria Josefa Florez de Osorno. Married Ivis Judith Moreno, four children.

A stake historian, she is a former Relief Society teacher, stake Young Women president, ward Young Women president, visiting teaching coordinator and counselor in Relief Society presidency. Born in Tamare, Venezuela, to Dilio Ramon Moreno M. and Maria Christina Fandi�o de Moreno.

Anthony Duane Perkins, 42, Taiwan Taipei Mission; Beijing Branch, China International District; branch president; former counselor in district presidency, counselor in branch presidency, elders quorum president, Sunday School teacher, seminary teacher and missionary. Senior partner in McKinsey & Co. Born in Cortez, Colo., to Larry Lazelle and Sunny Kimballa Luther Perkins. Married Christine Dee Abbott; six children.

A branch Young Women president, she is a former branch Primary president, counselor in ward Young Women presidency, counselor in ward Primary presidency, nursery leader, Primary teacher and organist. Born in Farmington, N.M., to Bob Walter and Janice Hilton Abbott.

Viktor Aleksandrovich Solomein, 46, Russia Moscow South Mission; Yekaterinburg Botanichesky Branch, Yekaterinburg Russia Stake; counselor in mission presidency; former branch president and counselor in branch presidency. Coordinator for Church Educational System. Born in Tymen, Russia, to Aleksander A. and Lyudmila P. Solomein. Married Lyudmila Valentinovna Lapshina, four children.

Hori Teira Tarawhiti, 59, Papua New Guinea Port Moresby Mission; Maynard Ward, Temple View New Zealand Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former Young Men adviser, high priests group leader, high councilor, stake mission president, bishop and counselor in bishopric. Director of Institute for Church Educational System. Born in Ngaruawahia, New Zealand, to Pkhimana Hokio and Elsie Mihitauranei Martin Tarawhiti. Married Cairo Hawaiikirangi Dennis, five children.
