Sewing machines help Girl Scouts

KOSRAE, Micronesia — Established 10 years ago, the Kosrae Girl Scout Organization has been committed to providing girls with a wide variety of opportunities. To assist them in this effort, Church members recently donated 25 new sewing machines.

Aaron Sigrah, special assistant to the governor, expressed appreciation to the Church for making the donation. "In Kosrae, we teach our girls how to cook and how to weave. Now with the sewing machines, we can teach them how to sew."

Meltina Kibby, a Girl Scout leader, expressed gratitude to those who made the donation possible. "Since the time of the donation, we have received many inquiries from girls wanting to join our organization and from women who would like to assist as leaders."
