ATLANTA, GA. — The National Federation of the Blind named Jan Pfost Zollinger of the Hagerman Ward, Wendell Idaho Stake, as the "2004 Distinguished Educator of Blind Children." Sister Zollinger has been a teacher at the Idaho School for Deaf and the Blind for 28 years. She graduated from BYU in 1976.

The Federation honored Sister Zollinger for her skills in teaching Braille and other alternative techniques of blindness, for devoting extra time to meet the needs of her students, and for inspiring her students to perform beyond their expectations.

Sister Zollinger received her award July 1 at the NFB National Convention in Atlanta, Ga., where she was presented a plaque and a check for $1,000.
