HARARE, Zimbabwe The Church through Latter-day Saint Charities and Deseret International donated more than 500 wheelchairs to the Government of Zimbabwe on Sept. 23. The wheelchairs were handed over to the Zimbabwean Minister of Health at a function held at one of the country's biggest rehabilitation centers by Harare mission President Joseph A. Jenkins. The wheelchairs were distributed to all the country's 10 provinces.
President Jenkins assured the minister that the Church will continue working with the government in efforts to help solve many of the challenges facing people in need. He also highlighted some of the projects that the Church is undertaking, such as gardening, Perpetual Education Fund and others that help members to sustain themselves.
