DALLAS, GA. The Dallas Ward, Powder Springs Georgia Stake, won the best float award in the religious category and also the Mayor's Choice award for best overall float in the Dallas Annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 4.
The ward's entry was a 16-foot-long replica of the Salt Lake Temple that loomed 17 feet above the 14,000 people that lined the city streets to watch the parade. The entry included a representation of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, complete with a replica of the Conference Center pipe organ. The choir was made up of members from the ward.
Missionaries from around the area handed out pass-along cards and copies of the Church's "Joy to the World" DVD or video to people ahead of the float.
