Youth beautify intersection

KEARNS, Utah — More than 300 youth from the Kearns Utah Central Stake and Kearns Utah West Stake joined forces April 30 to beautify a community intersection near the Utah Olympic Oval.

The Day of Celebration service project involved moving 60 tons of rock and bark onto a hillside at the intersection of 5400 South and 4800 East in Kearns, where, in 2001, TreeUtah planted more than 500 trees and shrubs in anticipation of the 2002 Winter Games. The youth raked the hillside smooth, and the adult leaders laid down weed prevention fabric on the hillside. Then, other youth placed the rock and bark into a landscape.
