LOS ANGELES, Calif. The Church was honored for its service to the community at the breakfast kicking off the 11th annual Los Angeles Community Day at Los Angeles Southwest College on Jan. 14. Approximately 100 missionaries of the California Los Angeles Mission served the breakfast to 1,200 civic leaders and others and received a standing ovation. The Church also had in the hall an exhibit featuring the importance of family.
Two days later, spectators cheered members of the African-American public affairs committee of the Church and missionaries who participated in a Martin Luther King Day Parade in Los Angeles.
