Drumming up success

Tanner Tidwell, 14, of the Brainerd Ward, Chattanooga Tennessee Stake, participated as a percussionist in the cultural celebration held April 30 in conjunction with the rededication of the Atlanta Georgia Temple.

Richard Youngblood, president of the Chattanooga stake, said that after his high school was devastated by a tornado on April 27, Tanner worried that he wouldn't be able to participate in the program because many of the school's musical instruments, including the drum he was to use, were destroyed. However, a young man in one of the Atlanta area stakes heard about Tanner's concern. The young man asked if his high school would allow Tanner to borrow a drum for the performance. School officials eagerly agreed and Tanner was able to perform at the youth cultural celebration.
